Where will I begin?  First, I am excited about the opportunities and the possibilities as I
return to St. Andrew in a role that is both new and somewhat familiar. There have been a
number of beginnings and first  throughout my ministry.  Traditions and customs help me
with beginnings and endings.  Reading one chapter of the book Acts each day of the first
28 days in a "new or like new" situation is one of my customs. The book of Acts is a
reminder that the historical missionary work of the "first" century Church began with the
promise to "receive power."

Renewal, strength, and direction can be drawn from this promise that still applies to daily
living.  I invite you to share in this custom with me of reading one chapter a day of the
book Acts beginning July 8 - August 4.  Pray and share with me what you discover.   I can
be reached through the church office or at pastormonica.org.  Together, we will continue
to build a community based upon the "power" to make a difference through people.

Everyone wants to belong.  No one wants to be an outsider.  Building community from the
inside out and the outside in requires interaction with various kinds of people.  No matter
who you are or where you have been you matter to God and to us. You are invited to join
us for the July sermon series based on the book of Acts titled "Bold in Jesus Christ.
