Just A Thought
B   ld  in  Jesus Christ
Dr. "Charles" was one of the more difficult professors I encountered during my time as a
student at St. Paul School of Theology, Kansas City, Missouri more than 15 years ago.  He
recently died and I am reminded daily of the impact he has had on my life.  He was very clear
about his expectations and one of his expectations was that a student understood the
difference between "thinking" and "feelings."  He reminded me often that when "encountering
the scripture do not rely on your feelings."  If you learn "how to think you will know what you
know"  according to Charles and more importantly "acknowledge that there is a great deal that
you do not know"  then "scripture will live with you everyday of you life."  Studying  and learning
requires developing a clear thought process that does not rely solely on "feelings."

The book of Romans reminds us to renew and use our minds so that we will know God's will for
our lives.  This is opposite of a culture that is filled with questions and answers based upon
"feelings.
"JUST A THOUGHT" is my way of sharing after prayer, reading scripture, reflection,
living life, observing life,  listening to God, and  briefly sharing my thoughts with you. I invite
you to pray, study, read, live, observe, listen, and find a way everyday to renew your mind, "so
that you may discern what is the will of God?"   St. Andrew and this website has a variety of
opportunities for you to be transformed.  Do not rely solely on your feelings.  Renew your mind
daily so that you will know when you don't know and know when you know.

Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Monica
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may
discern what is the will of God?  What is good and acceptable and perfect.   Romans 12: 2 NRSV
