Treasure
The Gift of Giving
Janice has almost completed her first semester as freshman in college.  She was
a child that had been moved from home-to-home through the foster care system
in Indiana.  Her prize possession or treasures were in a small plastic pencil box
that she rarely allowed others to see.  When her adoption was official, her new
family celebrated with a party.  Janice revealed to us what was in that box during
that celebration.  One of her treasurers was a small Bible with a photo of her
deceased Mother and Father taped in the back.  "Sometimes this Bible and this
picture is all I had to keep me going sometimes that was more than enough."
What we give today may become a treasure that will make a positive difference
in the life of another person.

What do you treasure?  Someone has opened the "treasure chest" of their lives
by sharing their time, talents and abilities that allow people to accomplish a
variety of tasks.  The Bible tells that if we commit to share with others we will be
better able to help our neighbors and that will lead to personal growth and
spiritual development.  A simple act of giving may become a treasure in a pencil
box that will give someone the courage to make it through the day.  What do you
have to give?

Blessings and Peace,
